Volunteer to Help the Homeless at the City of Sacramento Warming Center

We need your help! The City of Sacramento will be opening a warming center anytime temperatures reach below 40 degrees.  This “Pilot” program starts on Sat. 12/24 and will potentially continue through March 2017 on every evening when the temperatures fall below 40 degrees.  HandsOn Sacramento has been asked to help provide staffing for the center throughout the night for two shifts (6 p.m. – 12 a.m. and 12 a.m. – 6 a.m.).

The warming center will be at the Southside Park Pool House at Southside Park, 2107 6th Street, Sacramento, 95814.  Security will be provided as well as snacks, drinks, and blankets for people who utilize the warming center.

Please sign-up here if you are interested in volunteering for this effort and we will alert you when volunteers are needed (and you will be needed!)
